If you build it... He will knock it down?

As many of you know the Husband teaches a video class at a high school.  In his introductory video class they are working on time lapse videos. He recruited Little Man for some help creating an example for his students.  Hope you enjoy - I know Reid did!

Dog Park

Today was absolutely gorgeous!  We took full advantage and spoiled Miss B with a trip to the Dog Park!  I must back track for a moment though...  Remember when this happened?  Well...  I FOUND ONE!!  I got a steal of a deal on a FaceBook Group I'm a member off where you can sell all things baby in Douglas County.  We have used this to buy things and to sell things and we have found some great deals, but this one has to move up to the top of the list.  I posted that I was searching for a gently used BOB Revolution and shortly after a girl messaged me and we were on our way to check it out!  It is 5 years old but good as new in my book AND it came with the car seat adapter (for when we have #2 - no NOT Preggers!) and the snack tray and the cup holder :)  All for $150!!  So every chance we get we've been out taking it on test drives and it has lived up to it's name - plus there's like a 5 million point harness strapping Little Man in so no worries on him falling out again - as long as I remember to buckle him in!

Today was the ultimate test drive at the Dog Park - the terrain was a little rough, but Little Man didn't seem to be bothered by it and I didn't have to struggle to keep the darn thing upright!  Satisfied customer... CHECK!  Pictures of our outing... I got the car ride home :(

Either way today was a success and now it's time to bundle up again and go into hibernation as the forecast for the next 10 days barely touches 40.  Hope you have a fantastic week!

Momma Fail :(

So you know those articles you read where all you can think is "of course the kid got hurt, you weren't using the device correctly, DUH!"  Yeah well Sunday I was THAT momma...

It was absolutely gorgeous on Sunday, so we decided to go on a walk to take advantage.  We went on an average walk of about 30-45 min and we were about a block and a half away from home when suddenly the stroller seemed really light.  Odd.  I looked down and in slow motion I saw Reid's face of horror looking up at me.  My initial thought was "Why is Reid facing me??  I shouldn't see his face he faces away from me..."  Then as quickly as I saw his face it disappeared.  I abruptly stopped the stroller and reversed to see his little face looking back up at me again and then he lets out a little scream.  My second thought,
"HOLY CRAP I JUST RAN OVER MY BABY WITH THE STROLLER!!"

Yep, that just happened.  Mom of the year right here.  Thankfully he's totally fine, but talk about feeling like a crappy Momma!  I'm the one that's always nagging the Husband to make sure he tightens the straps and buckles him in and then I - ONE TIME - don't buckle him in and he falls out AND I run him over.  Awesome.

After everyone Reid and I had calmed down, the Husband nicely asked, "How did that happen?  Did you not buckle him in?"
NOPE.  I honestly don't know why/how I didn't, can I claim Momma brain on this one??

And Mom of the Year award goes to... NOT ME!

With all that excitement I've decided on a personal goal.. find one of these bad boys gently used on Craig'sList on the cheap (or for FREE - HAHA yeah right - a girl can dream!)
My thought is the ride would be smoother so maybe then he won't feel the need to turn around!  Or I'm just coming up with excuses for why I NEED want this bad boy!

NYE & Christmas details

For NYE, we had some friends and their Little Ones over for Make Your Own Pizza Night!  I had all these great intentions of taking pictures throughout the gathering... well I got 6 total pictures.  Only two of which have people in them...  Hmmm, I'll have to work on that.
Here is the aftermath of the pizza making, we had quite the spread!

Everyone made their own pizza and we all judged them to determine
the Best Tasting and the Most Unique!  We had some Meat Lover's, White Pizza, Pizza with no sauce and some Meat Lover's with hot sauce, quite the variety!

This was a breakfast pizza and it probably would have won the most unique, except this was Scott's 2nd pizza that he was making as we taste tested, so it was deemed as an unfair advantage.  It was mighty tasty though - especially the next day for breakfast!

Nom Nom!
The Little One's had quite a blast!

There were actually 7 Little Ones, but I only managed to get a picture of 2 of them...
Again, I need to work on this!

NYE was fun and despite bedtimes being 7-8pm, we all lasted until 9:30 before the Little Ones started dropping of!  The last two made it to 10:30!  The next day I'm pretty sure we were all second guessing the decision to let the Little Ones stay up past their bedtimes as ours was a wee bit cranky!  Nonetheless, it was a fun time!

New Year Day, we took down our Christmas decor :(  But I realized I hadn't taken any pictures yet!  I redid the mantle decor this year and moved the tree across the room, so it was like all new decor!
PS I. LOVE. CHRISTMAS. DECORATING!

The Husband helped me make this, which I'm loving, I wanted to keep it up a little longer!

I've had an old shutter in the kitchen for a while now, so I turned it into a card holder for all those cards that typically clutter the side of the fridge and stress out the Husband - he doesn't like clutter.

We like a good bargain around here and our Christmas Tree was no exception - we found this gem at Ace for only $35!

Goodbye Christmas Cheer, until next year!

**PS:  I'm thinking we need to pain the two walls around the fireplace.  There is just too much brown, thinking a color - any suggestions???
Oh yeah, Husband I want (you) to paint two walls in the living room... is that cool? Cool, glad we could have that conversation! Love you, you're the best!

2013 Catchall

This year has been one of our best yet as a family of four!  I have been very fortunate in my office to have nearly doubled the number of patients I'm seeing each week!  Every time I count up my numbers I have to pinch myself as it just keeps growing!  It's crazy to me that I get to help people each day AND get paid for it!

The Husband has also had a fantastic year teaching, in the five years he has been teaching at Eudora, he has been building a video program from the ground up.  This year he is really seeing the results from all the hard work he and his students have put in!  This fall they even had the opportunity to host a 12 hour film festival in Eudora - a lot of work but so worth it!  The Husband was also busy this summer working in our basement! He was able to get all the prep work done including putting up sheet rock.  Then we hired someone to come in for the mudding and taping and texture.  Next he painted every square inch of the basement and put all the baseboards up leaving it completely ready for flooring - the final touch!  But before we could have flooring put in, we had to rip out the nasty original carpeting upstairs and install the new flooring in the living room upstairs! Then we had carpet installed in the bedrooms upstairs and the entire basement. We have been enjoying that wide open space downstairs ever since!  We've also been able to tackle some fun DIY projects that have been filling up my Pinterest boards!  More on that later.

Mr Reid has shot up like a weed in the last year!  He came to work with me until March -he became mobile in March rolling all over the place!  He then started going to Miss Sharon's who is just around the corner from our house!  He is always so excited to go play with all his little friends, which makes it a lot easier for momma to leave him each day.  I've been fortunate enough to have Wednesday mornings and Friday afternoons off to be home with Little Man.  In the summer we went to the wading pool with some friends from Eudora every Wednesday which was so much fun, I think we've got a little fish on our hands!  Once the pool closed we took Miss B on walks every Wednesday and just played!  Now that it's been a little chillier, we've spent our Wednesday mornings going to Laugh Out Loud or just snuggling at home in our basement! In November we celebrated his First Birthday with a Moustache Bash! I had so much fun creating his party!  Little Man also started walking right around his birthday then really took off at Thanksgiving.  Now we are running all over the place!

Miss B is still her opinionated self.  She and Reid share an interesting dynamic.  He LOVES her more than you can believe and she... Tolerates him.  They are getting better, but there is still some room to grow on her part!

Our extended family has shared some exciting news with us this year too!  Aunt Randine got engaged to Tray in August and we will be celebrating them next August!  We got to spend Thanksgiving with Aunt Randine and soon to be Uncle Tray and his family!  Then Uncle Jared proposed to Mandie in October! They got to come to Lawrence to celebrate Reid's first birthday with us in November.  They asked me to be a bridesmaid, Mister Reid to be the ring bearer and they asked The Husband to officiate!  We will be celebrating Uncle Jared and soon to be Aunt Mandie in June!

We headed back to Great Bend to visit Grammie and Grandpa Boone and Uncle Jordan the weekend before Christmas.  On Saturday Great Bend transformed into a winter wonderland!  They got about 14 inches of snow!!  It was SO nice to be snowed in and just relax while there! I fortunate to be able to take the whole week of for Christmas.  I don't think we got out of our PJ's but once or twice the whole week!

Here's a few pictures from our weekend with Grammie & Grandpa

Enjoyed the window seat while it snowed

Ate far too many treats

Watched daddy & grandpa shovel snow

 Received WAY too many gifts!

Played to our hearts content

Ate Grannies Lasagna until we almost popped!

After Christmas we visited Grandma & Grandpa Robinson.  Grandma Robinson was recovering from surgery so we had already exchanged gifts but we did get to enjoy a nice meal Grandpa Robinson prepared for us!  Then Reid and Grandpa Robinson ran round and round - Reid LOVES to be chased!

We have been so blessed this year and we can't wait to see what 2014 had in store for our little family!  I'll leave you with a video the Husband made of our time together this Christmas!
