3's Company... uuuggghhhh.......

So I got home from work Monday night and to my dismay the husband did not cook any dinner but decided to eat leftovers... without me. If it's past 5 and he hasn't heard from me he eats and eats and eats.
By the time I got home he was nagging me about cookies. He really wanted to make some cookies and to his credit he actually pulled out the Betty Crocker cook book and was trying to piece ingredients together to make his cookies. Then he found a bag mix in the cabinet, which seemed like a lot less work...

So after prepping the mix he was off making his chocolate chip cookies and probably going to eat half the batch at this point. When the husband eats something he tends to eat a lot! The cookies were finally done and we sat down with a glass of milk and had at it. Miss B even snagged some dough which she was punished for!  But then I had a cookie without any chocolate chips on one half, so she got to eat that part. We watched a little TV and dosed off to bed... only to be awoken later by a disturbing beast...

Operation Midnight Terrible

At 2:50am the husband and I woke up at the exact same time and hurried to the bathroom only to realize we both were up and not looking/feeling so hot! We looked at each other and said "I gotta puke!" I then looked out of the bathroom door and saw Miss B dry heaving! In a mad dash that would inspire Usain Bolt we let Bailey outside to puke and headed to our new posts for the night. From 3 - 7 it was up all night puking our guts out. I'm not talking about puking like a bad night at the in-laws grandparents house, I'm talking about: ouch my back, what did I eat, please kill me, why me, and I'll never do anything bad again just please let this pass kinda puking. The husband threw up 6 times and could barely move by 7am and the only thing that would comfort him was the bathroom vent in a fetal position moaning just to make sure he was still alive!  I fared a little better - see I don't like to be sick (not that anyone does), so I go into it with a mindset of this is not happening, it's all a dream, you're fine.  Well I gave up around 4am when I couldn't get out of the fetal position.  When I say couldn't I mean I literally could not physically peel my knees from my chest for fear of unspeakable things happening.  It was NOT pretty!

Tuesday morning was the worse morning ever. You know the 'in sickness and health talk' in your vows? Nothing in those vows says how you're supposed to care for each other when you are both feeling like steamed roadkill. Finally at about 8:30 I awoke to the Husband shouting at me "I did it, Abby I did it"..... what in the world this meant I don't know but please shut up so I can go back to sleep. Somehow I mustered up the strength to ask what he did and he said "Sprite, Sonic, I got us Sprite".... Now I realize that we have only been married for about 5 years but those were the best words I have ever heared out of his mouth since we got married. Oh how the taste of the Sprite makes you feel all better, like when you were a kid and mom made you stay home from school and eat saltines and sprite and watch movies all day.

Unfortunately the Sprite didn't last forever. The husband quickly swigged his down and then he was out... Our good friend Travis who always knows how to take care of us new we were sick and offered to pick some Sprite and crackers up for us and the store. What a life saver!!!! Don't know about you ladies but after a night like that you don't look your best. I looked like Garry Busy in his mug shot. So when our friend came to deliver the goods I probably came off a little rude because I just snagged the food, shut the door and went back to bed.  I'll be sure to repay him when I actually look alive!

I mean how crazy is it that a grown man and woman AND a Great Dane were all puking at the same time. This event brought about a new light to our marriage. When we were on the 8 hour drive back from Chicago from our honey moon we pulled over to the side of the road multiple times for the husband to relieve himself because he caught a nasty bug in Jamaica. But we had never seen each other quite like this before. I'm glad we could share this special moment together.... not....

We spent all of Tuesday sleeping around the house and moaning what sounded like words but I could never tell if we were even in the same room. Miss B was a sweet heart though, I don't think she felt very good either but she was super cuddly all day.

Wednesday I went back to work but Nathan stayed home an extra day because he didn't have enough energy to open the door, but I guess that's what happens when all you eat is 6 crackers. He came into the office today and had Tom treat him as it was all I could do to treat the patients on my schedule!  He is feeling much better now - Thanks Tom! Tomorrow it is back to normal! The husband finishes up school this week and my parents are coming up this weekend and we are going to see Blue Man group at the Sprint Center!  Here's to Good Health and NO MORE COOKIES FROM A BAG!!!!

Clearance Christmas...

Last year the cash flow was low, so we weren't able to buy a bunch of Christmas decorations :(  Instead, we made due with what we had then after Christmas we went and loaded up on the Clearance Christmas Garb!!  So this year when it was time to decorate, it was SO much fun!!  Here are some pics...

While I did all that these to did a lot of this...

Sunday we hung the Christmas lights!  Little did I know the Husband really REALLY does NOT like heights!!  He was a good sport - once I put the camera away that is :)

Asking me nicely to put the camera away...
I'm serious Abby if you don't put that away, I'll stop right here with only half the lights up!
He was complaining b/c he had no traction with his shoes and I told him to put on his 'Trail Rated' shoes and he kept saying it wouldn't make a difference.  Then he almost slid right off the roof, so I had to throw the 'Trail Rated' shoes up and sure enough it made a big difference!
