Projects yo...

Abby is not writing this.

Ok now that we have cleared that up i'll catch you up on what has been going on around here. Over the last oh 1.5 - 2 months I have been working on building a bedframe for our bed we got when we first married. Only took 6 years but I finally made it. With the help of my friend Mitch (shop teacher) I got this thing finally whipped up and it actually fits our bed and looks good. This is the second piece of furniture I have built now. The changing table was first and now this bed. It is nice having the woodshop to be able to work in and Mitch has been a big help in schoolin me on building. At this point I have a lot more confidence moving forward into the next project.

Here is the headboard. Baby Reid isn't too happy.

 Siderails....

Footboard....

Here is an up close shot of the headboard. It's 2 posts with alternating 1X4 and 1X6 slat boards that fit into a dado cut groove.

This guy was inspecting my basement work.

This week is my spring break and I started with a busy Saturday night continuing into last night. My dad (Bill) and I have been sheet rocking the ceiling in the basement and I am about 95% done. I have some drops to cover but all other pieces are good to go. We are hopefully going to be pulling the trigger on another 50 sheets in May to complete the walls. From there I am going to hire out the tape, mud, and texture. I've done it before and it sucks. Friday night I moved all 50 sheets of sheetrock from the garage to the basement by myself. It took me about 5 hours but it was nice on Friday so i'm glad. I don't recommend moving 50 sheets by yourself, it takes forever and your arms and body hurt the next day.

Bought this drill pack last semester and it's been huge. Having an impact on hand is a must. I'll never go back to not having one.

Shout out to Lawrence Musil who let me borrow his sheetrock gun. If I ever rock again after this I won't do it without one of these guns. On a 4X8 board I had the whole thing secure before my dad had 3 screws in himself. The tool on the left is a rotozip I picked up about 5 years ago for $Free.99. Once again won't do any rock with out this thing. You can make far better cuts with it and you can make a lot of your cuts once the sheet is already hanging. Thats it for now, I will remind Abby to post some pics of Reid.

3 Months... Wait No 4 Months

So I've decided the best way to deal with my Little Man growing up is DENIAL!  Whenever someone asks how old he is I tell them he is 3 months old even though in the back of my head the little voice is screaming No he will be 4 months on Friday!!   My newborn is now 4 months old - SAY WHAT?!?!  It is amazing how time flies!  Also only blogging once month helps with the whole denial thing!  Someday I'll get better I promise - actually no I won't promise because it's not looking too good. ;)

I did manage to take his 3 month pictures on time, just didn't get them posted on time...
See the monkey, eat the monkey

Very stoic this month

Practicing Sitting!

Discovering his feet, not too sure about them!

About the extent of their relationship :(

But seriously... What ARE those things!?!?

 OOoooooo get the monkey!!!

Why do you keep putting me here?!

In other news, I made Miss B a new bed

and despite how comfortable and big it is she still would rather sleep on our couches - NOT COOL

We endured Snowmagedon 1 & 2 a few weeks ago!

I hate the snow

Still hate it

Okay I like it a little

Husband has some video fun and did a time lapse of him shoveling!
