3 Months of L-O-V-E

Last week brought so many exciting things to our family!  Wednesday night the Husband came home after being named Teacher of the Year! :)  So proud of him and everything he has done this year!!  We decided to celebrate this and V-Day a little early so we headed out for some sushi Wednesday night.  I hadn't had sushi in a whole year - talk about with drawls!!!  It was SO good we went to our favorite place downtown called Wa :).  Little man went with us and slept right through dinner.

Thursday at lunch I was walking out to my car and a car was coming down the street that looked just like Nathan's car which I thought was funny.  I got in my car to go to lunch and to my surprise it WAS the Husband!  He surprised me during his plan period with some roses!

Friday Little Man turned 3 Months Old!!  Being Reid's momma is so fun!  He has brought so much love and excitement to our lives, couldn't imagine it without him!!  Here are some stats on the little man...
Length - 24 inches (3 weeks ago)
Weight - 14 pounds (3 weeks ago)  We go to doctor next week so we'll see how much he gained.
Rolling Over - front to back - yes; back to front - almost, usually gets stuck on his side
Sleeping - he was sleeping 8-9 hours at night, but recently has decided to eat at least once in the middle of the night.  Not sure what this is about but hopefully we get back to the 8-9 hours soon.
Eating - ALL THE TIME!
Smiles - All the time :)
Bumpo Chair - just started using it this week and he tolerates.  Truthfully he prefers to stand on your lap or jump up and down on your lap!
Talking - more like shouting!  He has really started 'expressing' himself in the last few weeks, its quite funny to watch.  He really likes it when you talk back to him.

 My Valentine :)

Miss B stil hasn't given him a kiss, but she does come up and smell him more often - baby steps!  Saturday morning we were playing with Reid and she did join in the fun, take a look!

Baby Daddy Weekend

Abby is at a seminar all day Friday, Sat, and Sunday so Reid and I have had an all boys weekend. If you haven't figured it out 'husband' is writing this. I took Friday off from school to stay home with him but our weekend started Thursday night. We took him over to the Eudora basketball game for a little bit and his eyes were huge and was really getting a kick out of the environment.

Friday we spent all day inside except for our one super exciting outing to the bank. (crowd goes ooooo) In which we didn't even get out of the car. I watched a bunch of movies and drove myself nuts as I am a busy body.

Saturday I worked an ACT over at school and Reid got to spend the morning with Grandma Robinson! After I got done we hung out at my parents house for a little and then came home to another exciting round of staying inside and watching movies and feeding! (again the crowd goes oooo)

Today has been just about the same. I attempted to get some work done at school with Reid along but he wasn't havin that so we bolted early to get home for a bottle (at this point I could use a different type of bottle).

All n All the weekend has been pretty good with him. I am getting more used to him and the smiles he gives makes it all worth it. But there had to be something learned from this extended time at home right? You betcha. In my mini adventures as a new parent and well, new to babies in general I have started to compile I list of parenting facts that everyone seems to already know but I am just now finding out. Here are a few:

Parenting Fact #11: When you take off work don't kid yourself into thinking you will get work done at home. Unless baby is sleeping.

Parenting Fact #20: When a baby barfs b-milk on your arm.... it's rather sticky.

Parenting Fact #15: When your baby hasn't pooped in 4 days expect the worse. (anyone remember the line from planet of the apes "blessed be the bomb and the holy fallout"?). Also it might get all over said baby and yourself.

Parenting Fact #16: Your baby goes back to being cute after being washed of Fact#15.

Parenting Fact #30: Your ginormous dog will want attention and will want to be cuddled just like your baby. If you don't it will poop on the floor. (poop was found on my delightful Saturday)

There you have it folks, a few things I have learned so far. I'll keep you posted on more parenting facts as they slap me in the face like the smell of a poopy diaper at 2:30 in the morning. Have a great week!
