Doggie Exercise

First off, I'm trying something new with the blog!  So bear with me for a little until I get it perfected!

About a month ago, we planted new grass seed in the back, so we've been taking Miss B out on a leash so that she doesn't smash/eat/dig/graze/ruin our new seedlings.  Well, she has started to let us know that she has had enough of this and that she would really appreciate it if we would just let her out already!  So Sunday afternoon we took her to the park so she could run a bit.  Well there were a bunch of kids running around, so we decided to go into the tennis courts first.  So I trucked it over to the gate and closed it so she couldn't get out there and the Husband stood guard of the opening so she didn't escape.  Once the gate was closed he let her off the leash and she started sprinting towards me - like normal, then as she approached me, she didn't slow down... at all.   All 130 lbs of her was barreling towards me and as we both finally realized what was happening, it was too late.  She put on the breaks and slide a good 5 feet before she was ever so daintily stopped herself with her face in the chain link fence. She was able to tuck her chin and dodge to the side just before taking me with her, so luckily I didn't crash and burn with her.  She let out the sweetest yelp, pulled her feet out from under the fence and she was off again.  The Husband and I just stood in disbelief at opposite ends of the courts before it fully registered.  Then we looked at each other and said, "Yep, that just happened."
Here are her skid marks as she attempted to stop.

Close up of the scene of the accident...

Here are her battle wounds.  Not too bad considering there was 130lbs of body smashing her face into the fence.  (Line at the top and the pink spot above her eye - sorry it's blurry - she was embarrassed and wouldn't hold still!)

After that ordeal, we let her out of the tennis courts and she was very good - or else she was too dazed to be mischevious!  She ran...

and ran...
 and ran...

and ran...

Daddy giving her kisses for being so good!

I think she was getting her ears scratched but it looks like I was picking lice or something!

The rest of the afternoon was spent playing with one of her favorite things...
A Rock.
Some might say she for sure hit her head too hard, but I assure you this is normal for Miss B.  She is constantly digging for rocks in the backyard.  She will carry them around, flip them into the air, stomp on them and yes chew on them.  We haven't quite figured out what it is about those rocks, but she will be entertained for hours!
