Today we had an emotionally draining day. First we went to get her nails cut. We've tried to do this ourselves at home, but it always ends with 1.5 paws cut nicely and the others jagged or bleeding. So we gave up trying and have since been taking her to Pawsh Wash where they LOVE Miss B. Despite the fact that they spoil her with treats, she still isn't the most co-operative when they go to cut her nails.
Scene:
Groomer comes to greet us and suggests we cut her nails in the front room.
I laugh out loud then realize she's serious... I indulger her while she sits in-front of Miss B and try's to hold her paw. Miss B - 'Yeah... this ain't happenin' lady!'
Groomer finally gives up and agrees we should go to the grooming room.
Miss B jumps up in the grooming booth - happily at this point due to the bag of treats present.
Treats disappear - Miss B figures out what is really happening...
Miss B hovering in the corner of the both where they do the grooming - sometimes even rearing back on her hind legs just to let us know she is NOT okay with this
Groomer chasing after Miss B's flailing limbs while telling her 'It's Okay! I'm not going to hurt you - I promise!'
Miss B- Yeah right, that's what you said last time when you knicked me!
Me - Attempting (key word here) to block her in the cubicle so she doesn't run away while
Next Up:
Getting that awful FishButt taken care of. If you aren't familiar with the FishButt read here. Trust me you do NOT want me to explain this again.
We started noticing it a week or so ago and finally decided that it needed to be fixed before it got as bad as last time. So then we had to decide WHO was going to take her. I took her alone last time, so I told the Husband he needed to experience it - he always says poop is funny, so it just makes sense that he should take her. (The Husband thinking poop is funny is another story for another day folks...)
He finally agreed to at least go with me to take her for the FishButt fix. We got to the vet where they ushered us into 'Our Room' - we seem to go to the same one everytime. As they closed the door behind us Miss B went from Threat Level Yellow to Threat Level RED in about .02 seconds. She knew something was up! Then the vet and his assistant came in. The assistant immediately came over and made nice with her then scooped her up (mind you she is a squirmy 114.2 lbs!!) and put her on the table - this hadn't happened since she was a puppy! So that was a bit of a shock for both all of us. Then they gave her, the 1.5 year shots - pretty sure she didn't feel it, but I sure did! Finally he fixed the FishButt - Miss B's eyes opened wide as she screamed with her eyes 'WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!?! THIS IS SO NOT OKAY!!! Let's go get my nails cut again!!!'
Then the stench came... this time the office wasn't that bad as the vet cleaned it up quickly, but on the car ride home, the stench never left. In fact I'm pretty sure I can still smell it.
Needless to say it has been an emotionally draining Friday afternoon!
Not cool mom, Not cool
I can't even look at you right now
You have about 5 seconds to Go Away!
I'm going to pretend to be asleep and you should be gone when I open them...
Oh Great, you're still here...
