9 Months

Here are the 9 Months pictures.  Each month is becomes a little more difficult to get these done!

Miss B made a surprise appearance

We actually got several good shots this time, the following however are how our photo sessions typically go as of lately!

But I DON'T WANT TO SIT DOWN!!!!

Here are some other pictures of little man that we took this weekend...
Reid's favorite breakfast - blueberries and oatmeal with cinnamon
Practicing with a spoon - do we have a lefty on our hands??

Get in my belly!

Lastly here is the finished product of the pole that was once just an ugly metal post...

I am IN LOVE with this!  We were originally going to pain it but once he got ti up I really liked all the knots in the wood and was able to convince the Husband to stain yet one more thing!  SO SO glad he caved and agreed to stain it - adds so much to the basement!

A month in pictures...

So I have beyond failed at this whole blogging thing this summer!  Here is the last month (give or take) of our lives in pictures - AKA picture overload!
We'll start with 8 month pictures since he was 9 months yesterday... my bad

Those were the good pictures - here is what 90% of the pictures looked like

Then we spent some time in the backyard pool until Miss B DESTROYED OUR FUN - aka shredded the kiddie pool :(

She looks so innocent!

We headed back to GB for the Husband's 10 Year HS Reunion and got to ride on the float!

Went swimming with Grammie at my second home Club West

Grandpa made some DELICIOUS ribs with his new grill!

Yeah I'm eating ribs, it's no big deal... whatev

Reid cast some spells on our way to back home

Got home and unpacked

Then we went to Wichita to see Mr. Parker and Miss Brooke.  I'm so mad that this is the only picture I have of all 3 babies together - it isn't even a close up!

We had breakfast at the airport and got to see the planes up close!

Daddy quickly decided that their toys were WAY cooler than ours

Miss Brooke snuggling up with momma

Parker playin it cool on the deck

Reid and Mr Creeper

Our last morning they played so well together before we took off!

We got Braum's in Emporia - SO GOOD

Worked on the basement  - getting so close

Had our last pool day

The gang minus about 3-4 babies

Went to the fair - he was about as thrilled as his dad

Mr Reid had his first Kid's Meal at Chick-fil-A

Worked on the basement some more - in fact we are basically done!  We ordered flooring on Monday night - can't wait!!!

Took B on a walk

Played our little hearts out

These were all from my cell phone, I can't find my big girl camera but once I do I have a sneaky suspicion that there will be another photo dump blog in your future!

Basement Projects

Whats up everybody Nate here on this blog. I have been working on the basement more this summer and things have progressed faster than I intended. At this point we are doors and trim away from getting new flooring in the house which Abby is really excited about.

In June my Dad came over and helped me sheetrock the walls in the basement as we had already had the ceilings done over my spring break. A couple of weeks later we hired a guy to come in and tape the seems and texture the walls and the ceiling. So far it's the only thing we have had to hire out but it was worth it. They were in and out in two and half days. There was sheetrock that was cut at the bottom of the stairs from the previous owners but our texture guy did a good enough job you can't tell where the new sheetrock matched up with the old already textured sheetrock.

About a week after getting the place textured we went back to Great Bend as I had my 10 year high school reunion in Ellinwood (good time). While we were there I picked up Dan's paint sprayer. I don't have a picture of it but it is an airless paint sprayer and I sprayed the walls and ceilings in the basement in about 2 hours. Did a second coat in about 30 minutes. So for painting ceilings and priming walls i'd say thats pretty awesome. My dad and I then painted the rest of the basement. Bill was able to come over for the majority of a day and I stayed up until 12:30 painting that night but was able to get the whole thing done. Did some touch up the next day and put the covers on the outlet boxes and the lights.

This past Friday Abby and I ventured over to home depot in Shawnee and picked up 350ft of baseboard trim and six doors. I've got some work to do but we knocked out the trim staining last night in a few hours. Going to poly the trim today and hang doors as well.

I'll be back with some more pictures of the basement but we did go to Lowes yesterday and pick out flooring for the upstairs living room and got some carpet samples. A lowes person will be here sometime this week to measure for the flooring and then we will probably pull the trigger on this project soon! I'm pretty excited about getting this finished as I'm getting a little tired and school is just around the corner. Have a good week!

Happy 70th Anniversary!

So time got away from me!  Back in June we voyaged out to Western Kansas to see my family and celebrate my Great GrandParent's 70th Wedding Anniversary!  Can you believe it?!  70 Years that is awesome and I hope some day that the Husband and I can celebrate 70 years of wedded bliss together!  While there the Husband faded into the background and took some video of the party for my grandparents.  Hope you enjoy it!  I'll be back soon with more pictures and stories as we've been working hard on our basement and traveling all over Kansas!

Animal Watching

Yesterday we went on an impromptu trip to DeAnna Rose Farmstead.  We've I've been wanting to check this place out all summer per recommendations of everyone and their dog!  Neither of us realized how big the place was - we had about 1.5 hours to get through it and we used every minute!  Pictures and a video - compliments of the Husband - will do it more justice than I ever could.

The Husband and I also took turns taking pictures and some video with a new 50mm lense he got for school.  We used it on the Cannon T3i - also from the school.  The lense is pretty much my ideal set up if we were to up grade anytime soon... say in 2 weeks when someone special has a birthday... just sayin' :).  If you really wanted to go all out I'm sure that person wouldn't mind the T3i as well ;).
