Craftivities Continued...

So I'm on a pillow streak lately...
Here are some new covers for the porch.  Just finished these yesterday and yes I'm aware that Thanksgiving is in  3 days.

Then I finished these pillows for inside...

Lastly I'm working on finishing this pillow - for inside as well.  I wanted to finish it tonight, but my hand was cramping! :(

Saturday was SO nice!  We spent most of the day outside and running errands with Miss B.  We went for a walk on Mass Street and happened upon these characters.  The Husband LOVES StarWars, but he wouldn't get in line with all the little kids to get his picture.  He just made me take a few quick shots as we passed!

Miss B was lovin' the weather!  She was absolutely content hanging out the window all morning!

After her busy morning, she took a nap in the sun.

I left at this point to go to TWILIGHT!!!!!!  I'm such a 16 year old girl!!  I read the books after saying I would never read about vampires, but OMG they are SO good!  This movie was BY FAR my favorite one!! Definitely need to talk the Husband into going again next weekend!

Reservations...

This year for Thanks Giving we are headed out to Goodland to celebrate - which I'm super excited about!!  It's the fact that Miss B is going to be left behind at the kennel nonetheless, that is causing me to freak out a bit...  I know she is a dog and she will be fine, but I'm a Nervous Nelly!!  She's never been kenneled - not even for a night!  The only time we've left her behind she got to stay with Aunt Randine - who taught her to play cards :)  So this is kinda big deal... for me.  I keep having terrible dreams that she escaped and gets lost trying to find us.  That sounds pretty bad saying  writing it out loud!  Wouldn't you be sad leaving this Sweet Girl behind??

Daylight Craftivities

We woke up this morning with the best surprise ever!  It was Daylight Savings - I had completely forgotten about it!  So we slept in without loosing any extra day.  Unfortunately this means it will be getting dark around 5:30 now, but I did use the most of my extra hour today!  I sewed ALL DAY LONG!  We also watched two movies, cleaned house and had some friends over from church!  Remember way back when I got my sewing machine - the whole point of it was to make new pillows for our couch.  Well, last weekend I FINALLY found the right fabric and got started on my project!  I tackled the most detailed pillow first and this is how it turned out!

Hopefully this week I can finish up the rest of the pillows and maybe even make a new bed for this tired girl...

Better Late than Never!

Last weekend we had house guests!  I LOVE having guests, especially when they are two of my best friends from HS!  Sarah D. and Jodi got to come visit for the KU pounding game.  We got some free tickets from a patient, so the Husband's sister and her BF and some of their friends got to come too!  So we scrounged together some food and had quite the spread Saturday morning at the tailgate!  Needless to say, we lost VERY VERY BADLY! :(  But we still had fun!  Here are some pictures of the festivities...
This was our sweet tailgate spot from the stadium!
Miss Jodi and I in the game

Pretty Girls!

Lacy found this on the hill and it became our tailgate centerpiece!
This guy doesn't go in the games, he just brings his KU bike and gives people rides in the parking lot...
little creepy - but fun!

Don't let us blind you with out albino skin!

Randine claimed this hill during the 4th quarter and eventually all the little kids started messing with it, so she booked it up the hill to lay down the law!

The nice boys behind us took our picture!

Doggie Exercise

First off, I'm trying something new with the blog!  So bear with me for a little until I get it perfected!

About a month ago, we planted new grass seed in the back, so we've been taking Miss B out on a leash so that she doesn't smash/eat/dig/graze/ruin our new seedlings.  Well, she has started to let us know that she has had enough of this and that she would really appreciate it if we would just let her out already!  So Sunday afternoon we took her to the park so she could run a bit.  Well there were a bunch of kids running around, so we decided to go into the tennis courts first.  So I trucked it over to the gate and closed it so she couldn't get out there and the Husband stood guard of the opening so she didn't escape.  Once the gate was closed he let her off the leash and she started sprinting towards me - like normal, then as she approached me, she didn't slow down... at all.   All 130 lbs of her was barreling towards me and as we both finally realized what was happening, it was too late.  She put on the breaks and slide a good 5 feet before she was ever so daintily stopped herself with her face in the chain link fence. She was able to tuck her chin and dodge to the side just before taking me with her, so luckily I didn't crash and burn with her.  She let out the sweetest yelp, pulled her feet out from under the fence and she was off again.  The Husband and I just stood in disbelief at opposite ends of the courts before it fully registered.  Then we looked at each other and said, "Yep, that just happened."
Here are her skid marks as she attempted to stop.

Close up of the scene of the accident...

Here are her battle wounds.  Not too bad considering there was 130lbs of body smashing her face into the fence.  (Line at the top and the pink spot above her eye - sorry it's blurry - she was embarrassed and wouldn't hold still!)

After that ordeal, we let her out of the tennis courts and she was very good - or else she was too dazed to be mischevious!  She ran...

and ran...
 and ran...

and ran...

Daddy giving her kisses for being so good!

I think she was getting her ears scratched but it looks like I was picking lice or something!

The rest of the afternoon was spent playing with one of her favorite things...
A Rock.
Some might say she for sure hit her head too hard, but I assure you this is normal for Miss B.  She is constantly digging for rocks in the backyard.  She will carry them around, flip them into the air, stomp on them and yes chew on them.  We haven't quite figured out what it is about those rocks, but she will be entertained for hours!

Happy Monday everyone!  I came home to warm cookies and fire!  Considering it was 80 degrees yesterday we may have jumped the gun a little, but I LOVE it!  It was cold and rainy all day here, so a warm fire was perfect to end our Monday.  Miss B LOVES the fire!  She will push you out of the way if you try to get between her and the fire!
